About Us

Responsibility

Ethical
Sourcing

A beautiful gemstone should carry no hidden cost. We're committed to a supply chain that is fair, transparent, and respectful of the people and places that produce these treasures.

Our Position

"We believe the value of a gemstone is inseparable from the conditions under which it was found. An ethical stone is a more beautiful stone."

— Sapphire Story Founding Principle

Our Standards

What We Commit To

Fair Miner Wages

We pay above market rates directly to miners and cutting workshops. Shorter supply chains mean more money reaches the people doing the work.

No Child Labour

We conduct annual due-diligence visits to our supply partners and will not do business with any operation that employs underage workers.

Environmental Care

Sri Lankan gem mining is largely artisanal and low-impact by nature. We favour suppliers who restore land after extraction and avoid heavy machinery operations.

Transparent Chain

Every gemstone we sell carries documented provenance — country, region, mine type, and treatment status — verified by independent gemmological laboratories.

Community Investment

A portion of every sale supports education and healthcare initiatives in Ratnapura — Sri Lanka's gem mining heartland.

Laboratory Verified

We work exclusively with GIA, GRS, and Gübelin certified gems. Independent verification protects both buyer and seller from misrepresentation.

We intentionally keep our chain short. Fewer intermediaries means more accountability and a larger share of the sale value reaching the source.
